Robot Makes Scientific Discovery, Rendering Regular Scientists Obsolete.
April 2nd, 2009 | by RobAccording to a report from the BBC, a UK-based research team has created a robot that can independently conduct and analyze scientific experiments. What’s more, this robot, named Adam, has actually made a scientific discovery, successfully identifying the role of 12 different genes in yeast cells.
Is it just me, or does the thought of robots independently conducting experiments freak anyone else out? How long before we become the ones stuck in glass boxes with nothing but a water bottle and metal wheel to keep us company.
Even more chilling, the scientists who built Adam are working on a new prototype named Eve that is even more advanced. Need I remind anyone what happened last time Adam & Eve got together? The banishment of mankind from heaven. Word.
