They Are Coming For Us!

I want to visit Japan. I know that sounds bizarre given that Japan is the proverbial belly of the beast when it comes to dangerous robots, but I don’t care. The culture is just so fascinating, especially when compared to the United States.

For instance, if we were to make a TV commercial promoting tourism, it would probably include beautiful sweeping landscapes, bustling cities, and a group of attractive and ethnically diverse 20 year olds enjoying each others company. In Japan, on the other hand, you would see a video of alien monsters and giant robots battling in the streets. Literally.

Recently, the Japanese city of Hakodate released a series of promotional tourism videos that featured elaborate fight sequences between an invading race of alien squid monsters and 50-story tall robots. Crazy, or crazy brilliant? You decide.
